Hi there! Thank you so much for stopping by!

My name is Carol and I started Yogaflow Studio in Langley. This is our story.

Although somewhat athletic, I was an overweight teenager with zero connection to my body. Into my adulthood I became a gym rat - I even managed a fitness centre for about 10 years. I thought I was super fit until I went to my first yoga class and discovered that my toes were as far away as the moon and my hips moved like rubber. Why was standing up straight so hard??

I started practicing yoga with the goal of becoming more flexible (to add to my super fit-ness). But then I realized that after every yoga class I just felt SO GOOD. Like I was floating on air. Like all the problems I had an hour ago were not even a thing anymore. Was I really worried about that? It was as if all the stress and anxiety melted away from my body. The more disheveled I looked after class, the better I felt.

That's when I discovered that I needed to take care of myself not just physically but on every level - mentally, spiritually, emotionally - to feel good on a regular basis. Feeling good is the standard. We were meant to feel good. We are entitled to feel good. But we get caught up with work, traffic, kids, making dinner, taking out the trash, social media, etc and forget about feeling good. Forget about taking care of us.

And so one day it became my mission to help everyone in my hometown of Langley feel good through the practice of yoga. I became a teacher in 2017 and opened Yogaflow Studio in September 2020. Since the studio opened we have gone through all sorts of "life situations" - the Covid pandemic, historic economic instability and road construction on 208th to name a few - but we're here, and we are not going anywhere.

As for our space, it is small, cute and cozy. I have tried hot yoga and thought I enjoyed it until I tried not hot yoga. My foot was not sliding down my leg in tree pose. I felt that the sweat dripping off my pores were super distracting. And I was so hot, lightheaded and sometimes nauseous. When I tried non-heated yoga I felt more connected to my own body, I could actually feel my body working up a sweat instead of being hot from the outside. I preferred the authenticity of a non-heated room so I created Yogaflow to not be heated.

Our mission is to help you feel good on every level, not just on the physical level. You will most definitely gain physical benefits and also have the opportunity to tap into what's beyond the physical. We do not do fusion or fitness type "workouts". Besides, fitness classes don't end with Savanasa!! (which is like, hands down the best part of yoga).

My amazing instructors and I hope that Yogaflow can be that place in your daily life where you come to feel good. You are entitled to feel good. You were made to feel good. You deserve to feel good.

We hope to see you on the mat!

Namaste - means the light in me honors the light in you

There is something magical that happens when I’m on my mat. Practicing yoga makes me feel… alive. Awake. It is liberating.
I enjoy challenging my students. It's become so easy to be comfortable and complacent in a society driven towards convenience that we often forget what we are capable of. To overcome a challenge physically it takes mental and spiritual strength. We are all capable of more than we can imagine. I love to remind my students of this every time I teach.

I love teaching Vinyasa - prepare to sweat in my class! You will feel your heart drumming, your breath in and out of your body, and the heat radiating from the inside out.
I look forward to seeing you all on the mat!

Yoga and fitness has been a part of my life for many years. I began teaching fitness around 1997 and teaching yoga in 2015.
I completed my 200 hour yoga training and my 300 hour advanced training with Shibui Yoga. I continued with further training in
restorative, yin, and kids’ yoga. I will always be a student of the practice. I love learning, and I am indebted to my teachers who continue to share their knowledge with me.
In my classes, I want to help others to feel more ease and love for their bodies, which will in turn foster longevity in the practice of yoga. Any body can do yoga. I love a practice that encourages you to listen to your body and become more attuned while still having some fun. I hope your practice will help you grow and be more mindful and present both on and off the mat.
When I am not teaching, I am busy being a mom of two teenagers and a dog. I love the outdoors, the water, and a good cup of tea.

My love for movement began in dance as a child. The freedom, the self expression and the strength in fluidity between body and breath, defined peace and happiness for me at a very early age. Being so young, I didn’t realize how valuable this balance of the inner and outer self was to me until much later in life. Like most of us, much of my adult years were spent seeking comfort in the outside world. I suffered from depression and anxiety trying to navigate through life.
Fast forward and I finally found a home for my heart in Yoga about five years ago. I will never forget that familiar feeling when I first stepped onto the mat, “the freedom, the self expression and the strength in fluidity between body and breath.” My mat is my refuge and yoga the antidote to the battle in my mind. So, the decision to live and breathe this practice and share it with the world came without question. I want to ease the mental suffering that has infected humanity. I want to help people find harmony in their life through the power of uniting the breath with the body and discovering their inner self.
Nothing brings me more joy than being able to guide you through your practice. The human connection, the collective energy and the oneness that emerges in a flow class is a precious experience. In the busyness and uncertainty of today’s world, it is truly a privilege to share this experience with one another.
When I wake up from savasana I’m a crazy cat mom married to a superhero! I’m a proud introvert with big dreams. I love hugs, lattes and Fall.

Hello my beautiful friends! My name is Nova and my Yoga journey started when my kids were little and I needed to release stress and calm my thoughts. Meditation and stillness helped me control an auto immune disorder brought on by unresolved trauma. The more involved my
practice became, the more I noticed myself using breathing, calming and grounding techniques throughout my daily challenges. Once my kids started High School, I decided to learn more so that I could share these techniques with others.
I am a 200Hr RYT with certifications in Yin, Pranayama, Meditation, Yoga Nidra as well as Fascial Lines and Body Rolling. Balance is an integral part of a healthy lifestyle both mentally and physically and that is why I offer Yoga to all in an inclusive, safe and welcoming environment. I also believe laughter is an essential part of health so be prepared to laugh and smile in my classes!
When I am not on the mat, I enjoy serving my community through volunteering with The Langley Hospice Society. I also enjoy
travelling, walking my Labradoodle, hiking and downhill skiing with my husband and our two university student sons.
Be well and remember to breathe!

Sophia has integrated yoga into her life from a young age. First it was a way to build strength and release tension alongside her pursuits as a dancer. Later, Sophia fell deeply in love with the philosophy of yoga, and the way yoga, like therapy, eases tension in the mind and offers a more peaceful and aligned way of life.

Sophia completed her 200 hr YTT in Rishikesh, India the birthplace of yoga in 2017. Since then, she has been offering a unique practice built on the foundations of traditional hatha. In 2020, she dove further into the realm of Yin yoga and took specified Yin trainings due to her passion for this style. Don’t let that fool you though, she has grown to love teaching Vinyasa and enjoys the freedom that flowing allows.

Sophia loves to help people find grounding through exploring the mind-body connection, pranayama, and surrendering into stillness. Sophia is a certified Reiki healer and has pursued an education in Social Work which are skills that come through in her classes.
When she is not teaching yoga, you can find her dancing in her kitchen, reading at a local coffee shop. snuggling her cats, stand up paddleboarding, or at the gym exploring her own movement.
